Journal of Optometry (J Optom) is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal of the Spanish General Council of Optometry, dedicated to advancing research and knowledge in optometry, vision science, and clinically relevant eye and vision research.

The journal provides an international forum for optometrists, ophthalmologists, vision scientists, researchers and other eye-care professionals, publishing high-quality clinical, experimental, epidemiological and translational research.

The scope of Journal of Optometry includes, but is not limited to:

Journal of Optometry particularly welcomes scientifically rigorous research that advances knowledge of visual and ocular function, improves clinical assessment and management, evaluates emerging technologies, or contributes to better eye and vision care.
